“As a chef at Roeland camps, it is my sole target to keep all attendees satisfied with balanced and tasty dishes”, says Camille, a Roeland volunteer. “And let’s not forget about some little dessert afterwards, to keep everyone’s taste buds happy.”
Camille: “I think being a volunteer at Roeland is hugely impressive! The kids and the team are amazing, and there is so much to learn.”
Learning how to organize and to receive feedback.
“When, for instance, you are being assigned as a cook, you are in a perfect position to learn how to organize yourself, and to run a kitchen and a cooking team as a professional. People will give you feedback when it comes to your cooking abilities, thus enabling you to improve, year after year. I aspire to become the best camp cook ever, that is my ambition.”
Talent for cooking.
“Despite the fact that I mostly operate behind the scenes, I meet a lot of new people. I pick up a lot of tips and tricks, and the participants also learn something from me, like creating tasty desserts.”
“Together with the crew, I want to use my talent for cooking to help offer the students an unforgettable experience. Seeing everybody happy after a meal I prepared? Nothing could please me more."
