“I always had a heart for language”, says participant Kevin with conviction. “And because of me taking part in Roeland vacation holidays, that love became even stronger.”
Paris Magique, Intercultural Fun, Créa et Sports, English Summer Vibes… These past summers, Kevin joined both French and English camps. “It was my dad who suggested going on a language vacation, what I thought to be a great idea from the beginning.”
“I really liked being at camp from day one. Especially because you are not allowed to speak Dutch: French camps mean French only, or - evidently - English only at English camps. At first, I struggled a little, but after a couple of days it went rather smoothly.”
Local traditions and culture
“Besides improving my language skills, I also learned a lot about local traditions and culture. Something of great interest to me. And even more: thanks to Roeland I felt a remarkable self-confidence boost. Something that also did not go unnoticed when I went back to school.”
Even better results at school
“In the classroom I stopped being afraid to express myself in another language. I no longer hesitate to construct more difficult sentences; I become more active in class conversations, and I have my school results to prove it. My grades at school were far from average, but now they have improved significantly.”
Meeting real Parisians
