Is there a better place for young adventurers to learn Dutch than in the green heart of the Netherlands? From our safe spot at Heino Summer camp, you will take your first steps in learning Dutch and explore your limits during a variety of fun activities. Before you know it, you will be playing games in Dutch, yelling "nog een keer!" after a ride during our trip to Hellendoorn amusement park and saying "lekker!" when we have a barbecue together. There is only one word to sum up this camp: "unforgettable!"
Activities
- At this camp we will mainly be focusing on playful discovery of the Dutch language. We will practice the basics of Dutch once or twice a day during fun language workshops in small groups.
- The camp coaches, whose native language is Dutch, will speak Dutch all the time, but we provide bilingual moments so that everyone can follow along easily. Participants are allowed to speak their native language among themselves, although we encourage them to practice their Dutch as much as possible.
- You will be sure to get plenty of exercise thanks to the sports and big games on offer!
- Singing sessions! We bet you'll be singing these catchy Dutch songs for years to come!
- The location is perfect for young adventurers, with lots of activities on offer including archery, a high rope course and lots more. There is a swimming pool, a child-friendly disco, two mini golf courses and even a beach, where you can enjoy a delicious snack!
Excursions
In Salland, nature is always close by. We even have deer you can feed right around the corner! During our trip to Hellendoorn adventure park, you can choose from a variety of attractions, from the little train over Dreumesland and a ride on the white-water rapids to thrilling roller coasters for the daredevils. There is even a giant water park! Which water slide are you picking?
Entry-level campPartial immersion
At these camps for beginning speakers, you can still speak your native language with other participants. During bilingual moments, you will receive information in Dutch and in your native language so that you understand everything well. At all other times, the camp coaches will only speak the target language and help you learn as many new words and phrases as possible.
You will learn the language during playful language workshops in small groups adapted to your level and there is also a lot of attention to language during the other activities. As your knowledge of the target language grows, we will increasingly challenge you to speak the target language. That way, you will learn to express yourself more and more fluently!

Summercamp Heino
Heino Summer camp is a prime location for outdoor activities, with its own large beach, swimming pool, high rope course, all kinds of sports facilities (tennis, basketball, football, table tennis, beach volleyball, etc.), two large grass fields for big games and much more. The Sallandse Heuvelrug nature reserve and the Twents Reggedal are also located nearby. In the evening we will be enjoying the large campfire together or playing a last game before going to bed. Participants sleep in snug dormitories for 4, 6 or 8 people. Boys and girls always have separate dormitories.
