If you already speak a bit of English, but you don’t feel ready to go to a camp in England, this camp is perfect for you. It's a language immersion camp with cool language workshops, original activities and excursions in Ghent, all in English!
Activities
- Learn loads of English in the fun language workshops
- Discover the coolest places in the centre of Ghent on our excursion!
- Create your own graffiti on the city’s famous graffiti street
- Step up to the challenge in an original city game
- Show us what you’re made of on a kayak trip past the ancient buildings of Ghent
Non-residential
- From 9am until 5.30pm
- Day care available from 8.15am and until 5.45pm
- We will provide a cold lunch and an afternoon snack
Residential
Get more out of your language immersion by choosing a residential camp. You will sleep in single rooms at Nieuwen Bosch College, a green oasis in the heart of Ghent.
Entry-level camp – partial language immersion
At these camps for novice speakers, you can still speak your mother tongue with other participants. During bilingual moments, you will receive explanations in the target language and in your mother tongue to ensure that you understand everything properly. The camp coaches speak only the target language and help you learn as many new words and phrases as possible. You will learn the language in a playful way during language workshops in small groups adapted to your level and a lot of attention is also paid to language learning during the other activities. As your knowledge of the target language grows, we challenge you more and more to speak the target language. This way, you learn to express yourself better in the target language a little more each time!

Location
Nieuwen Bosch is an oasis of peace and calm tucked away in the centre of historical Ghent. Beneath the site’s ancient trees, you will find a multi-purpose sports hall, volleyball, mini-football and basketball courts, a recently refurbished playground and a spacious theatre. Summer camps in Oostakker: Camp participants sleep in single rooms.
