GO BACKA year in a week
In the beautiful forests of Petite-Chapelle, time seems to have come to a halt. But nothing could be further from the truth! This camp may only last a week, but it will seem like a whole year has flown by!
Thanks to the alternation between language workshops and activities in Dutch and moments where the participants can talk to each other in their mother tongue, this camp offers the perfect environment to discover Dutch or to further improve your language skills in a relaxed way. During this camp, time runs just a little faster than usual: in just six days, we speed through the activities of an entire calendar year. Coming up with good intentions for the‘New Year’? Check. An Easter breakfast? Of course! A lovely ‘summer holiday’ even though it is the middle of winter? Why not! Andof course we end on a high note with a blast of a party on ‘New Year's Eve’! Activities
- This camp aims to help you (further) discover the Dutch language in a relaxed way. Around three times a day, you get to practice your Dutch in small groups, in language workshops adapted to your level.
- In between, there is all kinds of fun to be had, from sports and various games to more creative endeavours. There’s something for everyone!
- Participants are allowed to speak their native language to each other, but they are strongly encouraged to practice their Dutch as much as possible. Our team full over native Dutch speakers is there to help!
Have you not started Dutch at school yet?
Don’t worry – you definitely won’t be the only one! Here at camp, everyone helps each other out. Also, since you are allowed to speak in your native language with the other kids, so you can always ask a friend if you don’t know what a word means.
The group leaders will speak Dutch throughout, but they will use all means necessary to explain everything clearly. The Head of Project will also explain everything in your mother tongue during the day’s ‘bilingual moment’, to make sure that everyone can follow along easily.
Type of camp: discovery camp
At these camps for beginning speakers, you can still speak your native language with other participants. During bilingual moments, you will receive information in Dutch and in your native language so that you understand everything well. At all other times, the camp coaches will only speak the target language and help you learn as many new words and phrases as possible. You will playfully learn the language during language workshops in small groups adapted to your level and there is also a lot of attention to language during the other activities. As your knowledge of the target language grows, we will challenge you more and more to speak the target language. That way, you will learn to express yourself better and better in the target language!

Location
You will be staying at the Les Sarts centre in Petite-Chapelle, an idyllic little place surrounded by lush nature. The famous Fagne area offers beautiful landscapes filled with forests, rivers and caves. It is sure to perk you up! You will be residing in a room for 2 to 9 people. Boys and girls are in separate rooms.
