Ready to spend New Year's in the mountains?!
Do you love winter sports and adventure? And do you want to improve your French in the meantime? Then we have great news for you: Roeland vzw is going skiing again in the French Alps! This year, we're heading to Crest-Valand Cohennoz + Espace Diamant (5 stations).
We provide the perfect mix of snow fun and quality language immersion. In the mornings, you'll take 2 hours of ski or snowboard lessons (in French, of course!), and in the afternoons, you'll explore the ski area further with the monitors in small groups. Besides skiing or snowboarding, the monitors also organize fun language workshops and exciting evening activities. This way, you'll be fully immersed in French. What you learn in the evening, you can immediately apply on the slopes the next day! By the end of the week, not only will you have improved your skiing or snowboarding skills, but also your French.
Just like at our traditional language camps, French is the main language spoken throughout the entire stay. During the language workshops, the language coaches work on your French in an active and playful way.
Included in the price:
- 2 hours of ski or snowboard lessons per day by certified French instructors (ESF)
- Afternoon skiing with our own monitors
- Language and recreational activities by our experienced Roeland monitors
- Ski equipment and helmet (for snowboarding, there is an additional €15 fee) for 6 days
- Full board (breakfast, lunch, dinner)
- 6-day ski pass

Experience Camps – full immersion
A language is only truly learnt by experiencing it. This is the approach that anchors our Experience Camps. There is less of a focus on language workshops. Instead, we will refine your proficiency through a variety of activities in the target language. Led by our group leaders, you will be holding debates, exploring a city, learning a new (adventurous) sport, or letting your creative side go wild – all in the target language. This also means that it is important that participants already have a basic knowledge of the language. We expect you to be able to understand simple conversations and instructions without much effort and to talk about day-to-day topics (talking about yourself, expressing your feelings, asking simple questions). Although these camps feature fewer (or no) language workshops, our group leaders remain focused on helping you to improve your skills and express yourself better in the target language.

Lieu
You'll stay at the holiday accommodation 'Chalet Les Pieux' in the village of Crest-Voland, close to the slopes of the Espace Diamant ski resort. The chalet, with family atmosphere, was completely renovated in 2019 and is all ours.
You'll sleep in rooms of 2 - 7 people. Each room has it's own propre bathroom. The accommodation not only has a very cozy bar but also two game rooms where you can spend fun moments with your (new) friends.
